Privacy & data protection

insurance.net.za, a division of Mosaic Financial Solutions Pty Ltd, processes personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act No. 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Information we collect

When an enquiry is submitted through this website, we collect the contact details and risk-management information you provide in the form (for example, name, contact number, email address, organisation, and a description of the risk or cover in question), together with limited technical information such as your IP address and device or browser information, which is used to protect the service and diagnose abuse.

How we use your information

We use this information to evaluate and respond to your enquiry, route it to the appropriate risk-management specialist, maintain an internal record of the relationship, meet our regulatory and record-keeping obligations as an authorised financial services provider, and improve our risk-management services. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to those described in this policy without first asking for your consent.

Legal basis for processing

We process personal information only where a lawful basis under POPIA applies, most commonly: your consent (for example, when you submit the enquiry form and its consent checkbox); the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a service relationship; the processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, including obligations imposed on us as an authorised financial services provider; or the processing is necessary to pursue our legitimate interests, such as preventing fraud and abuse of this website, provided that interest is not overridden by your interests or fundamental rights.

Cookies and tracking

This website uses Google Ads conversion cookies to measure whether a visit from a Google Ads advertisement resulted in a submitted enquiry, and essential session cookies required for the enquiry form and security features to function. Cookie-derived information is limited to advertising performance and service security, and does not affect the personal information described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can review or opt out of Google's use of advertising cookies through Google Ads Settings; disabling cookies may affect some functionality of this website.

Sharing and cross-border transfers

Personal information is shared only with authorised Mosaic personnel and service providers who support secure hosting, email delivery and advertising measurement, on a need-to-know basis and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations. Where a service provider processes personal information outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is subject to a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA before the transfer occurs, in accordance with section 72 of POPIA.

Retention

Personal information collected through an enquiry is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to conclude the enquiry and maintain a record of the relationship, and thereafter for the period required to meet our record-keeping obligations as an authorised financial services provider, unless a longer period is required by law or an active legal, regulatory or compliance matter. Information is securely deleted or anonymised once these periods have elapsed.

Your rights

Subject to POPIA, you may:

• request access to the personal information we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
• request deletion or destruction of personal information we are no longer authorised to retain;
• object to the processing of your personal information, or withdraw consent for future communications, on reasonable grounds; and
• not be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that affects you legally or similarly significantly (this website does not make such decisions).

To exercise any of these rights, or for any other privacy enquiry, use our complaints and personal information form, selecting Personal information (POPIA) request as the nature of the matter. This routes the request directly to our compliance department and gives you a reference to quote.
